2023-24 Salary Range is $142,451 - $173,314 (208 days). Plus, mileage stipend, communication stipend, paid professional dues and generous district contributions toward health and welfare benefits.

The Newport-Mesa School District is seeking an experienced, dedicated, dynamic and energetic instruction leader who has a strong understanding of instructional practices and outstanding communication skills to be the next principal for Eastbluff Elementary School. Successful candidates must have administrative experience, cultural competency, and a proven ability to foster a healthy school culture with high expectations.
Position Description:
Under the direction of an Assistant Superintendent, the elementary principal serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of the school. Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, organizing, and directing the total operation of the site to facilitate and support high quality instruction. This includes addressing and aligning the instructional program, the implementation of curriculum and instruction, supporting personnel, and budgeting. An effective elementary principal will lead and facilitate collaborative decision making to create a school environment that maximizes student learning, academic performance, and positive social growth.
Representative Duties:
Serve as the instructional and operational leader of the school
Plan, collaborate, implement, and direct the district instructional program at the site level, ensuring alignment and rigorous, responsive standards-based instruction
Plan, design and conduct and maintain performance evaluation systems to ensure school goals and objectives are achieved
Utilize data to guide staff discussion and inform instruction and behavioral interventions
Ensure students are provided with an appropriate standards-based instructional program that supports the needs of all students
Communicate effectively and timely with students, parents, and staff
Work closely with staff in assessing the school’s educational and program needs, develop short-term and long-range planning strategies for creating an optimal school-wide education program
Plan, organize and facilitate quality professional development for staff
Participate in functions of the district, school, community, and advisory committees
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) includes nearly 59 square miles and is comprised of the cities of Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Corona del Mar, California. Located on the beautiful Southern California coast, in Orange County, NMUSD is within 40 miles of Los Angles to the northwest , and within 90 miles of San Diego to the south.
