Salary: $65,000 - $95,000
We are looking for an experienced educator who shares our Christian classical commitments and has a background in history. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and thoughtful educator capable of engaging (primarily high school) students in the history of ideas over the course of human history, with particular emphasis on modern European and American history. Additionally, the ideal candidate would possibly take on department chair duties, overseeing our K-12 history curriculum.
1. Plan and facilitate history lessons across various grade levels in the Upper School, adhering to the school’s educational philosophy and in conversation with the Upper School Principal and Academic Dean. 2. Facilitate, evaluate, and track student learning. 3. Serve as an advisor to a small group of students. 4. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, staff, and school leaders. 5. Actively participate in school life, attending advancement events, school retreats, etc. 6. (Eventually) lead and manage the History Department, ensuring curricular excellence and alignment with the school’s mission, engage in faculty evaluations, and regularly collaborate with other department chairs toward schoolwide goals. 7. Engage in continuous professional development and lead departmental workshops.
