Indian Creek School is an independent, co-ed day school in which 560 students age 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. This is a full time, 10 month position, reporting to the Middle School Principal.
Teach four or five sections of Latin to Middle and Upper School students. The majority of these sections will be in the Middle School.
Use best practices and standards-based lessons to deliver a best-in-class classical language curriculum.
Passion for the Latin language and ability to engage and excite MS students to master the fundamentals of the Latin language.
Collaborate with a World Languages department committed to building language and communication skills while centering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Work with the Middle School principal, Middle School team, and the Leadership Team to ensure high-quality educational and engaging experiences for students.
Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community.
Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Serve as an academic advisor to a group of students.
Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings, including professional development days.
Desire to be actively engaged in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
Strong content background in Latin. Ability/willingness to take a section of Spanish preferred.
