Position Context & Summary:
Friends School of Baltimore has an immediate opening for an Upper School Registrar for the 2023-24 school year. This is a 12-month, hourly position with key responsibilities and functions supporting the administration of the Upper School.
Major Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and maintenance of student enrollment and scheduling procedures.
Coordinate exams, distribution of report cards, progress reports, academic watch/warning communications
Manage student transcripts in collaboration with the college counseling office
Manage ongoing student schedule modifications including adds/drops/changes
Develop systems for the capture and maintenance of critical compliance related student data (e.g. race/ ethnicity, DOB, ID Numbers, contact information)
Maintain comprehensive student records that are accurate and reliable.
Coordinate search and recruitment of new Upper School faculty and staff
Coordinate graduation events, senior awards, and Upper School Commencement
Support the Upper School Principal and Upper School Academic Dean with scheduling of meetings, appointments, and communications
Support the Director of Student Support with scheduling family meetings for students with learning support plans
Qualifications, Essential Skill Sets, and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
A positive and professional demeanor; a sense of humor
Ability to learn quickly and work with a team, as well as independently
Desire/skill to develop and maintain collaborative work relationships
Ability to apply ingenuity and sound judgment to assigned tasks
Ability to develop and manage complex filing system and statistical data
Working knowledge of spreadsheet software for data analysis required (including data functions) and an understanding of basic database management and processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Google Workspace services, and other software tools, as well as the ability and eagerness to learn new systems and applications.
Familiarity with Blackbaud preferred but not mandatory
Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic, fast paced environment and changing priorities within our organization
Ability to maintain confidences/confidentiality
Ability to work within priorities and deadlines, and set own work priorities
A willingness to understand and incorporate Quaker Principles and Quaker education into their work.
