The pay range for the position is $60,000 - $80,000. Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any discrepancies that may exist do not relate to sex. CA seeks a Spanish faculty position to teach grades 3, 4, and 5. This position reports directly to the Lower School Principal effective August 2023. The primary role of this position is to create a classroom that promotes learning and personal growth. The Spanish teacher motivates students to develop the necessary skills for language acquisition and provides rich instructional experiences as a foundation for the introduction of the Spanish language and the culture of Spanish speaking countries.
Plan daily academic, differentiated lessons and implement specific strategies to meet the language acquisition needs of all students
Teach Spanish to multiple grade levels in a way that matches the individual needs of students
Relate to students in an age-appropriate manner
Create a positive learning environment following the Responsive Classroom approach
Establishes effective communication with families and students
Work collaboratively with colleagues
Participate in curriculum development Pre-K – 5th Grades
Support Lower School programs
Attend faculty and staff meetings and professional day opportunities
Support rules of conduct and discipline and suitable learning environment in the classroom and during recess
Perform other assigned duties (recess, car line, etc.)
Engage in ACTFL as a professional organization for research and networking
Elementary teacher certification
Bachelor’s Degree in teaching World Languages (Master’s preferred)
Classroom experience (minimum 3 years)
Fluent written and spoken Spanish
