Holy Trinity School is currently accepting applications for principal. We are seeking a dynamic educator and leader who will promote our school's mission. Holy Trinity School, founded in 1818, is DC’s oldest elementary school. We serve approximately 340 students from DC, Maryland, and Virginia. As a primary ministry of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Trinity School is specifically focused on educating students within the tenets of Jesuit tradition and Ignatian spirituality. These traditions include academic excellence, critical thinking, a bias for action, introspection and a presupposition of goodness in others.
Position Summary
The elementary school Principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures that ensure all students are supervised in a safe, traditional, Catholic learning environment. The Principal is responsible for the faith formation and curriculum of the school, and oversees the school’s Jesuit Identity. The Principal represents the school on the School Advisory Board (SAB), the Home School Association (HSA), at events in the Parish and the Archdiocese, and the community, as needed. The Principal demonstrates considerable individual judgment on matters requiring confidentiality. The Principal reports to the Pastor and works collaboratively with other parish ministries.
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred
Must obtain Master's Degree within 3 years of being hired
Possess or be eligible for a Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia educational administration certification
Must obtain certification within 3 years of being hired
Possess or be eligible for catechist certification
Must obtain certification within 3 years of being hired
Minimum of 5 years of instructional experience, preferably in Catholic schools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Citizenship, residency or work visa required

We are a Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade co-educational Catholic Elementary School in the Jesuit Tradition. Our enrollment is 340 students.
