Trinity School, a co-educational K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a full-time Lower School Administrative Coordinator. This position will begin in early Spring 2023.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Lower School Principal and Assistant Principal, this position is responsible for providing direct administrative support to the Lower School Principal including facilitating the smooth operations of day-to-day life in the Lower School.
Essential Duties Include the Following:
Serve as the welcoming face of the Lower School Office assisting students, families, and faculty, including answering incoming phone calls, assisting families with general inquiries, and supporting faculty;
Oversee student attendance including arrivals, early departures, dismissal plans, and busing;
Communicate with Security concerning early departures and visitor schedules during parent conference weeks;
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Lower School Assistant Principal including calendar and appointment management, correspondence and document organization, as well as assistance with special projects;
Manage the acquisition and distribution of Metrocards and communications with DOE/OPT;
Assist with summer mailings to families and faculty and help facilitate back-to-school meetings in August;
Expedite requests for student transcripts; track and communicate this information to the Lower School Principal and the Director of Admissions Office, Grades K-4;
Manage office printing including flyers and other materials for special events and the filing of reports;
Order supplies for and manage the Faculty workroom space;
Cover lunch duty weekly and identify back-up coverage as needed;
Undertake various data research projects at the direction of the Lower School Principal; and
Undertake other duties as assigned by Lower School Principal and Assistant Principal.
The ideal candidate will possess high energy and enthusiasm for school life, the highest level of confidentiality at all times, a delight in children, great organizational skills, an ability to multi-task, sophisticated technology skills and database knowledge, warmth, a sense of humor, a collaborative nature, patience, persistence, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates must have experience working in a school office with a minimum of three-to-five years of experience. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
