School Mission

The mission of our school is to ensure that each student holds the skills needed to strategically problem solve and is prepared to contribute and thrive in the 21st century work force. Each student will demonstrate mastery of common core standards through on-going, authentic and varying assessments. We will ensure this by means of real-world application and through a multi-faceted system of support.

About Centerville

Centerville will begin its first year as it transitions from a junior high school to a middle school in 2023-2024 and welcomes 6th graders to its campus. It is expected to serve approximately 1500 students. Centerville has a focus on ensuring every student feels connected and safe at school. Academic success as well as caring and supportive relationships are emphasized.

Essential Job Duties

• Assists the school principal in the educational and administrative leadership of the school and performs any related work as required.
• Assists the school principal in all aspects of administering and operating the school or has complete charge over one or more specific school function. The functions, combination of functions and the degree of autonomy to carry out these functions are solely determined by the school principal.
• Assists in the coordination of pupil personnel services including but not limited to the coordination of the testing program, serving on the student review team, counseling of students, advising students and parents on performance of the students and other related pupil personnel services.
• Supervises and evaluates or assists in the supervision and evaluation of certificated and classified school-site personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Serves as liaison between school and community agencies.
• Facilitates in-service programs for certificated and classified staff.
• Identifies exceptional students and supervises planning of special programs of study.
• Serves on school and District committees and/or councils as assigned.
• Serves as resource person for classroom teachers.
• Engages in periodic classroom lecturing.
• Acts as resource person for assigned departments in the area of curriculum.
• Develops the school calendar and make activity supervision assignments for certificated staff.
• May coordinate the athletic program with the assistance of the athletic director.
• May be responsible for a parent newsletter

Requirements

• Five (5) years teaching experience (preferred).
• Current Administrative Services Credential
• Master’s Degree in Education
