Brief Description of Position:
Under the direction of the assigned District administrator(s), the principal shall serve as the instructional leader and chief academic officer of the school; provides administrative and professional leadership in instruction and curriculum development. Responsibilities shall include the implementation, direction, and evaluation of the instructional program of the school; operation of the school plant; certificated and classified personnel evaluation; budget development, preparation, and management; master schedule/calendar development, preparation, and management; planning, developing, and maintaining public and community relations programs and activities as well as open and ongoing communication with community groups and the city. Participates in staff and student activities and community leadership. Overall administration of an elementary school. Completes other related work as assigned.

Experience/Education:
At least five years successful teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level;
An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard from an accredited college or university;
A valid California K-12 Teaching Credential requiring a bachelor’s degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching
A valid Administrative Services Credential authorizing K-12 service;
At least two years successful administrative experience is preferred;
Training in areas of elementary school administration, curriculum, supervision of instruction and student services desirable;
