JOB SUMMARY
The director of admissions oversees all aspects of Eastside Catholic School admissions and recruitment, from inquiry through enrollment. The director leads a collaborative effort to develop and implement short-term and long-term recruitment strategies to ensure the school meets enrollment objectives. This role reports to the school president and collaborates closely with the senior leadership team.
The ideal candidate will be a data-driven decision-maker, an experienced admissions and financial aid professional, and a creative leader in school admission, recruitment and retention practices. The director will develop and lead inclusive outreach efforts to draw diverse families to the school to ensure Eastside Catholic continues to enroll promising students who will thrive in and contribute to the school community. The ideal candidate will hold genuine empathy for prospective families and an awareness of the needs and sensitivities of parents, students, faculty, staff and administrators while managing expectations and delivering admissions decisions in a manner that is honest, caring and diplomatic.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent Eastside Catholic School and serve as the face of the school to the broader community and with prospective families while communicating the school’s mission
Coordinate systematic and efficient handling of applications and communications with parents of student applicants to ensure the process supports and honors the student and their family
Organize, oversee and be present at all admissions events, including open houses, school tours, student visit days, testing days and evening parent sessions
In collaboration with the marketing director, develop an annual communications plan for prospective families to move them from inquiry to enrollment, plan and review admissions-focused marketing materials for digital and print publication, participate in local events and festivals and other identified marketing opportunities
Read and review student admission applications and coordinate the reading and review procedure for middle school and high school Admission Committees
Oversee the selection process of new students with the school principals
Deliver all messaging to accepted, waitlisted and denied applicants by published deadlines
Plan and administer entrance examinations on-campus for applicants
Track retention of current students and present the information to leadership to help in strategic decision-making related to enrollment
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspire and engage the school community to actively participate in admissions events, tours, student visits, curricular information sessions, student observations, student testing, student interview and parent and individual family conversations.
Oversee the work of the Admissions and Financial Aid Committees and maintain the school’s historic admissions statistics
Manage admissions staff and admissions parent and student volunteers
To create networking opportunities, establish and maintain positive relationships with area preschools, schools, education consultants, admissions directors and other local professionals
Continually evaluate and revise all aspects of the admissions/enrollment management program to maintain capacity enrollment and a potential wait pool of qualified applicants.
Stay current on recent research, demographic and admissions trends and develop long-term strategies to enroll students that reflect the school mission and commitment to academic excellence and Catholic identity.
Follow communication review process and protocols including adherence to school brand and editorial style guidelines
