This position is for the 2023-24 school year and will begin in August 2023
Indian Creek School is an independent, co-ed day school in which 560 students age 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. This position is full time, 10-month position reporting to the Upper School Principal.
Teach four sections of Upper School (Grades 9-12) Humanities. This could include courses in the English, History, or Interdisciplinary departments including ICS's signature Grade 9 required interdisciplinary course: "The History & Science of our World".
Work with the Upper School principal and the Upper School team to ensure a positive and engaging Upper School experience for students
Collaborate with Humanities colleagues who are committed to building reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills while centering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Develop and deliver interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Differentiate through multiple strategies including for enrichment and intervention.
Use a variety of assessments, such as student portfolios and project-based learning to measure student understanding and drive instruction.
Provide feedback on student assignments in a timely and constructive manner.
Serve as an academic advisor to a group of students.
Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings including professional development days.
Desire to be actively engaged in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth
Other duties as assigned by the Upper School Principal.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
A strong desire and genuine excitement for work with high school students
Content knowledge in English, History. Preferred: interest and content knowledge in Earth Science.
Preferred: experience teaching Upper School Humanities.

Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft products.
