First Baptist Academy’s Middle School is seeking a full time Middle School Science Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. FBA offers a supportive, collegial environment, and asks educators to encourage students to challenge themselves academically, while growing in moral development rooted in a relevant Biblical Worldview. The Middle School Science teacher will work with closely in a 7th/8th grade teaching team and report to the Middle School Principal.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate knowledge of planning and implementing effective teaching strategies for students in middle school
Communicate with parents during the school year through regular correspondence and portal postings
Engage with team members through collaboration and shared interest in being a member of the full community
Pursue professional development
Actively engage in student life, helping each student find his/her place in God’s unfolding story
Encourage the growth of the whole student by holding students accountable to academics, as well as high Biblical character
Display authentic Christian character and a desire to work in a Christian environment
Earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited, TEA certified school; Masters preferred
Hold current Texas teacher certification
Experienced at least two year’s full-time teaching in a rigorous academic setting
Demonstrate excellent writing skills and strong verbal communications skills with families and colleagues
Enjoys being a positive member of the professional faculty team in a highly collaborative environment
Share knowledge of current trends in education, including the use of technology to improve the quality of education delivered to students
Has an openness to teach an elective for middle school students
