Gifft Hill School in beautiful St. John, USVI is looking for an outstanding Learning Strategist who can live our mission and vision by providing direct support to students and teachers as they engage in a dynamic, rigorous academic program which acknowledges a variety of learning styles and readiness levels within a classroom climate that fosters a love of learning, mutual respect, and the importance of personal responsibility. Successful candidates will have experience with both “pull-out” and “push-in” models of student support, and will demonstrate expertise in supporting core teachers as they work to differentiate instruction for students within their classrooms. He/she will be responsible for working in collaboration with teachers and the School Counselor to act as a case manager for up to 25 students who are receiving learning support, including tracking of academic progress, implementing instructional interventions, and managing the timely review of school intervention forms. He/she will also be responsible for working directly with the School Principal to coordinate materials and schedules for school-wide standardized testing and to analyze data on student achievement from a variety of sources. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a certification in Special Education, have classroom experience and who demonstrate confidence in a variety of strategies for differentiating instruction within the classroom.
