Lowcountry Preparatory School in Pawleys Island, SC seeks a Head of School to lead a community of approximately 220 students in grades pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The anticipated starting date for the next Lowcountry Preparatory School Head of School is June 2023. Lowcountry Preparatory School was founded in 1995 and has been a beacon in the surrounding area as “An Ideal Learning Environment.”
Pawleys Island is nestled in a beautiful seaside community that is a mere 30–40-minute drive to Charleston or Myrtle Beach.
Experiences and Qualifications:
The Head of School should possess a master’s degree or higher with successful experience as a teacher and administrator. They shall be knowledgeable about early childhood education and K-12 curriculum. The Head of School should have proven successful budgeting and fundraising experience along with proficiency in today’s technological realm. Growth and opportunity abound for Lowcountry Preparatory School and the next Head of School should have a mindset of continued expansion and success. The Head of School should demonstrate effective marketing and admissions knowledge to further enrich the school. The next Head of School will be responsible for continuing the successes of Lowcountry Preparatory School while maintaining the mission and core values established by the Board of Trustees. The Head of School should be accepting of the cultures here in the South Carolina Lowcountry and be excited to continue to promote and nourish them.

Lowcountry Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational school serving students in grades K3-12. We are an Adavanced Placement school, fully accredited through 2024 by AdvancED, a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), a member of the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA), and a AdvancED STEM Certification. We currently enroll 225 students in grades K5-12. Recent college acceptances have included the US Naval Academy, Brown University, Washington and Lee University, New York University, among others.
