SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $95,000
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

Eastside Catholic School seeks an outgoing and relational High School Dean of Students. The Dean of Students works with the principal to carry out the school’s academic and behavioral programs. As a professional educator, the Dean of Students understands and responds to the challenges presented by our diverse student population. The Dean of Students provides proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders in delivering programs and services to support our students’ academic achievement, and personal and social development. The Dean of Students works cooperatively with the principal, counselor, staff, students and parents toward a positive school climate. The High School Dean reports directly to the High School Principal and includes support for overall school safety and supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise student discipline and attendance issues
Schedule parent and/or teacherconferences concerning discipline or attendance issues and maintain appropriate records.
Counsel students, when necessary, in groups or one-on-one
Develops proactive programs to improve student behavior, culture and interactions
Keep principals fully informed on relevant matters of student discipline and school life
Create a positive school culture by coaching faculty on how to manage behaviors through high-quality instruction, strong relationships, clear expectations and positive classroom culture
Supervision of students while not in the classroom that may include arrivals/departures, parking lots, lunch periods, hall duty, assemblies, extracurricular programs, etc.
Attends and supervises school social events on or off campus as needed, including dances and athletic games
Prepares and maintains accurate records; submits reports on time; maintains discipline records for the maximum period mandated by law and/or board policy
Takes precautions to ensure staff and student safety and is a member of the Incident Response Team
Is attentive to student behaviors that may indicate issues outside of the schoolhouse (e.g., profanity, teasing, bullying, distress, etc.)
Intervenes and works with faculty and staff to address behavior that is unacceptable per the Student and Family Handbook
Participates in professional growth opportunities, as appropriate
Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others (students and faculty)
Keep director of communications and Incident Response Team informed of issues that may affect public relations, require media or emergency response involvement
Performs other specific job-related duties as directed by the principals
Must be up to date with vaccinations per Washington State policies

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred
Three years or more of administrative experience in an education setting highly desirable
Teaching experience preferred
Must be committed to working in a diverse community
Demonstrate strategic thinking skills with a record of accomplishment in the implementation of programs in diversity and inclusion
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and experience interfacing with academic and non-academic departments
Able to work collaboratively and collegially with multiple constituencies
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
