Responsible To: Superintendent
Leading, directing, analyzing and monitoring all core processes and results of the school in order to create action plans designed to build a positive school culture and drive student achievement.
Fosters the success of all students through continuous school improvement by:
Developing, communicating, implementing and evaluating a shared vision of teaching and learning;
Analyzing achievement data and instructional strategies to make appropriate educational staffing and curriculum decisions;
Creating and implementing schedules and procedures that maximize instructional time; and
Providing developmental feedback and focus for staff professional learning.
Promotes the success of all students by developing, advocating and sustaining an academically rigorous, positive and safe school climate for all stakeholders by:
Modeling and collaboratively promoting high expectations, mutual respect, concern and empathy for students, staff, parents and community;
Developing, communicating and implementing best practices in school-wide behavior management; and
Maintaining a collaborative environment that supports the staff.
Planning and Assessment
Gathers, analyzes, and uses a variety of data to inform planning and decision-making consistent with established guidelines, policies and procedures by:
Working collaboratively to establish performance goals that are consistent with the district’s strategic plan, develop and implement plans to achieve them and monitor achievement progress.
Collaboratively implementing the school improvement plan that results in increased student learning; and
Monitoring and evaluating the use of diagnostic, formative and summative assessments to provide timely and accurate feedback to students and parents and to inform instructional practices.
Fosters the success of all students by supporting, managing and overseeing the school’s organization, operation, and use of resources by:
Demonstrating and communicating a working knowledge and understanding of Georgia public education rules, regulations, and laws, and school district policies and procedures;
Establishing and enforcing rules and policies to ensure a safe, secure, efficient and orderly facility and grounds;
Establishing and using accepted procedures to develop short and long-term goals through effective allocation of resources inclusive of effective budgeting; and
Identifying potential problems and dealing with them in a timely, consistent and effective manner.
Human Resources Management
Fosters effective human resources management through the selection, induction, support and retention of quality instructional and support personnel by:
Supporting formal building-level employee induction processes and mentoring procedures to support and assist all new personnel;
Managing the supervision of staff in accordance with local, state and federal requirements;
Effectively addressing barriers to teacher and staff performance; and
Promoting a collaborative, positive school culture and working conditions.
Provides school personnel with timely and constructive performance feedback and evaluating them in accordance with the state and district guidelines by:
Providing support, resources and remediation for teachers and staff to improve job performance;
Conducting and documenting instructional practice observations and providing timely, appropriate developmental feedback to teachers and staff; and
Involving teachers and staff in the design and implementation of best practices based on evaluation results which improve instructional practice leading to increased student achievement
Fosters the success of students by demonstrating professional standards and ethics, engaging in continuous professional development and contributing to the profession by:
Modeling respect, understanding, sensitivity and appreciation;
Maintaining confidentiality and a positive and forthright manner;
Providing leadership in the sharing ideas and information with staff, colleagues and other professionals;
Working in a collegial and collaborative manner with other leaders, school personnel and other stakeholders to promote and support the vision, mission and goals of the school district; and
Remaining current on research related to educational issues, trends and practices.
Communication and Community Relations
Fosters the success of all students by communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders by:
Planning for and soliciting staff, parent and stakeholder input to promote effective decision-making and communication when appropriate;
Collaborating and networking with colleagues and stakeholders to effectively leverage and utilize the resources and expertise available within the school community and in the local community; and
Disseminating information to staff, parents and other stakeholders in a timely manner through multiple channels and sources

Must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Georgia certificate in Educational Leadership.
Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience and demonstrated administrative experience that has produced high levels of student achievement required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision.
The noise level in this environment is variable, dependent upon the time of day, the location in the building and the type of student activity going on in the area.
