The learning community of Newark Unified School District is committed to the academic success and social development of all students. The district serves approximately 6,000 students and is currently comprised of eight elementary schools to include a TK program, one junior high school, one comprehensive high school, one continuation high school, and one independent study school, which, when combined with its preschool and adult education programs, provide a lifelong learning opportunity to all Newark residents. Students are served by a dedicated staff of approximately 600 certificated, classified, and management employees.
