The principal shall be responsible for the general management and educational program of the school.  As the administrator of the school, he/she shall be responsible for the supervision of all personnel assigned thereto.  He/she will enforce the State Educational Code, the rules and regulations of the California State Board of Education, the policies of the local school board, and the administrative regulations of the Superintendent of Schools.  He/she will perform as the educational leader and chief executive of his/her school and direct the curricular and co-curricular programs, the operations of the facility and a program of school/community relations.

Directly responsible to the Superintendent.  Responsible for all certificated and classified personnel as assigned.

• Interprets and administers all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the school operation
• Directs and administers a program of professional development and evaluation for all school personnel
• Interprets the school program, curriculum, and activities to the community
• Screens, interviews, and recommends personnel for employment
• Coordinates the use of school district services and resource
• Directs the administration of a co-curricular program
• Develops and administers the school fiscal allocations and budgets
• Supervises the administration of a system of records and accounts
• Directs, coordinates, and supervises assigned personnel
• Represents the school at conferences and meetings
• Directs activities necessary to support a program of counseling, discipline, and attendance
• Develops and implements the instructional program
• Assists faculty in determining educational objectives an identifying school needs
• Makes classroom visitations
• Supervises the preparation of the master schedule
• Assigns certificated and other personnel to supervisory duties as may be needed in or about the building during or outside of school hours
• Adjust grievances
• Complies with education code and district board policies

Administrative Credential Required A minimum of five (5) years of certificated experience. Administrative experience preferred.
