Park City Day School, an independent preschool through grade 8 school in Park City, Utah, is seeking a Head of School to lead its next phase of growth and development. Uniquely poised in an area experiencing an influx of new families from across the US, the school has seen increased popularity, as a result of its rich curricular offerings and inclusive and welcoming values. In September 2021, PCDS began a three-year strategic plan to phase the school into a period of enrollment growth while maintaining a focus on student and teacher retention. The plan establishes objectives for expansion through enhanced academic excellence and a continued emphasis on building a nurturing and caring community.
The position start date is July 1, 2023.
Park City Day School is looking for an action oriented, student-and-teacher focused educator to lead the school. The ideal candidate will: nurture a community that responds to knowing one another well; emphasizes diversity, inclusion and equity in all aspects of their work; inspire creativity and an appreciation for the outdoors; mentor faculty; engage families; work with the Board members to carry out the strategic plan; and continuously innovate and improve the school’s curriculum across grade levels.
The ideal candidate is a charismatic, impassioned communicator who can articulate the school’s unique mission, academic program and compelling future, and one can work hard to use their experience and expertise to raise the school’s standard for academic rigor. The candidate combines spirited enthusiasm with a sense for stability, academic evangelism with pragmatic engagement of stakeholders.
As the face of the school, the candidate will work closely with stakeholders while annually building the pipeline of prospective families. Over the longer-term, the candidate will work with the Trustees to design and execute the school's fund-raising strategy.
Specifically, the candidate will:
- Ensure the financial stability of the school through retention and enrollment
- Oversee all operations while focusing on school culture, admissions and fundraising
- Continuously improve the day-to-day student experience
- Lead curricular development and implementation
- Expand financial resources by launching annual alumni and capital campaigns
- Manage and support all faculty and staff
- Partner with the Board of Trustees
