ABOUT RAMAY JUNIOR HIGH Ramay Junior High has proudly served Fayetteville families since opening in 1966. Ramay currently serves 671 students in the seventh and eighth grades. Ramay has received numerous awards in recent years, including the Arkansas Governor’s Quality Award, NASSP Breakthrough School, and #1 Test Score in End of Course Biology. The Ramay faculty have received numerous individual awards, and six Ramay faculty members are National Board Certified Teachers. ABOUT FAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS Fayetteville School District #1 was the first school district granted a charter by the State of Arkansas in 1871. The district was also the first to voluntarily integrate its schools, only five days after the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1954. Known as Fayetteville Public Schools, the district currently has eight elementary schools, one combined elementary and middle school, two middle schools, two junior high schools, one traditional high school, one alternative learning high school, and one virtual academy that serves grades K-12. REQUIREMENTS The candidate must have experience as a school leader and currently have or be qualified to obtain Secondary Building Administrator licensure in Arkansas.
