St. John Catholic Elementary School, located in Westminster, Maryland seeks candidates for the position of Principal to begin July 1, 2021. St. John Catholic School offers a vibrant, faith-based academic environment for students in Preschool through Grade 8. Guided by St. John Catholic School's core principles of Christ-centered learning and Christ-modeled love, students are taught to embrace Catholic values as they develop into educated community-minded citizens. With a dynamic STEM curriculum, St. John Catholic School applies current technology and learning strategies to obtain a high level of achievement from its students.
The School serves over 300 students in Pre-School through Grade 8. The Principal works collaboratively with the Pastor of the Parish, with a membership of 4,400 families, to develop the unique, God-given gifts of each student in a safe, nurturing, and diverse environment through innovative academics, service to others, and spiritual preparation for a fulfilling life that follows in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
The Principal is ultimately responsible for overseeing an instructional plan that is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the school. The Principal will implement the educational ministry of St. John School ensuring its Catholic identity. The Principal reports to the Pastor and the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
Practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education
MSDE Admin II certification
A minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary level
Three years of elementary (K-8) teaching experience in a Catholic School
Experience with developing and maintaining a balanced school budget
Prior experience as an Assistant Principal/Principal required
