Eastside Catholic School is a Catholic faith-based educational community where students in grades six through 12 learn to integrate their thinking and believing in ways that encourage intellectual excellence, nurture relationships and inspire a life of leadership and service to others. Founded by parents in 1980, the school is governed by an elected board of trustees. It is the only seven-year, co-educational Catholic school on the Eastside, and offers a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum. Eastside Catholic School enrolls 840 students, employs 120 faculty and staff members and has an alumni base of over 4,600. The director of admissions oversees all aspects of admissions and recruitment and will direct the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment. The director will lead a collaborative effort to develop and implement both short-term and long-term recruitment strategies to ensure Eastside Catholic School meets enrollment objectives. The director reports to the school president and collaborates closely with the Senior Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate will be a data driven decision maker, an experienced admission and financial aid professional and a creative leader in admission, recruitment and retention. The director will develop and lead inclusive outreach efforts to draw diverse families to the school and ensure that Eastside Catholic School continues to enroll promising students who both thrive as part of the school community and contribute to the community.
The director should be a team player who has a warm collaborative nature, positive energy, a sense of humor, possesses superior organization and prioritization skills and is self-motivated in the completion of their work. The director will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including outstanding writing and public speaking skills and the ability to interact comfortably with a variety of people. This person will have a genuine empathy for prospective families and an awareness of the needs and sensitivities of parents, students, faculty, staff and administrators, and manage expectations and deliver admissions decisions in a manner that is honest, caring and diplomatic.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent Eastside Catholic School and serve as the face of the school to the broader community and with prospective families while communicating the school’s mission.
Coordinate systematic and efficient handling of applications and communications with parents of student applicants so that the process supports and honors the student and their family.
Organize, oversee and be present at admissions events, including open houses, school tours, student visit days and evening parent sessions.
Engage and inform prospective parents and students about Eastside Catholic School and the benefits of an EC education on an individual, small and large group basis.
Inspire the school community to actively participate in admissions events including individual and group tours, student visits, curricular information sessions, student observations/testing/interview, parent to parent connections and individual family conversations.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies including area schools, preschools, consultants, admissions directors and organizations and create networking opportunities.
In collaboration with the director of marketing, develop a communications plan for prospective families to move them from inquiry to enrollment.
In collaboration with the marketing department, participate in the development of appropriate admissions-focused marketing materials, including the admissions content on the school website for events and other marketing opportunities.
Read and review student admission applications and coordinate the reading and review procedure for middle school and high school.
Oversee the selection process of new students with the school principals.
Oversee the work of the admissions and financial aid committees and maintain the school’s historic admissions statistics.
Manage parent and student expectations and deliver admissions decisions in a manner that is honest, caring and diplomatic.
Lead retention efforts of current students for the succeeding year with the goal of maintaining strong retention.
Support financial aid process and participate in policy decisions, messaging/communications, award review meetings and efforts with community partners.
Stay up to date on current research, demographic and admissions trends and help develop long-term strategies to enroll students that reflect Eastside Catholic’s mission and commitment to academic excellence and Catholic identity.
Manage admissions staff, which includes providing clear communication regarding responsibilities, practices and feedback. Provide direction to admissions event volunteers.
Collaborate with parents, former parents and alumni to assist in the admissions program in terms of outreach and recruitment.
Continually evaluate and revise all aspects of the admissions/enrollment management program with the goal of maintaining capacity enrollment and a potential wait pool of qualified applicants.

Advance degree preferred; bachelor’s degree required. Preferred 5+ years of school administrative, staff supervisory and budgetary management experience.
School admissions experience preferred with demonstratable excellence in the field.
Possess a deep appreciation and understanding of the Catholic faith and be a strong proponent of Catholic education.

Available to attend evening and weekend events.
Demonstrate an ability to function as a team player; work on tasks outside of immediate job description as needed.
