For over 60 years Saint Bernadette School in Springfield, VA has proven leadership and formed minds and hearts of leaders in Christ. We are looking for a principal with vision to inspire and lead our excellent faculty and staff for this next chapter as we transition out of pandemic, hopefully as soon as possible, to a new and even greater future.
Saint Bernadette School has an enrollment this year of 465 students in grades Pre-K through 8, and offers an excellent education centered in faith, hope and charity. Our next principal will actively collaborate with the pastor as well as an experienced administrative team including our assistant principal, curriculum coordinator, registrar, counselor, nurse, business manager, a team of learning resource professionals, and extended day program staff.
Our new principal must be a practicing Catholic, lead by personal witness to the Catholic faith, and exhibit passion and compassion in articulating the unified mission of Saint Bernadette School and Parish to students, parents, staff and community.
Skills in using technology as a communication and educational tool, the willingness and background to work in advancement and development, and consistent support of parish and school events are important attributes expected in the new principal. Applicants must hold at least a master's degree in educational administration, a related field, or equivalent knowledge, with a minimum of five years teaching experience in Catholic schools. Candidates with previous experience as a school principal preferred.
