The Montebello Unified School District (District) is seeking an Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources.
The District is looking for a strong leader who has demonstrated a successful trajectory in a large public school district. Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Schools and as a member of Executive Cabinet, the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources performs assigned managerial responsibilities and exercises delegated authority assigned under Education Code, Federal Regulations, State of California laws, Administrative Code, and/or Board Policy/Administrative Regulations. This position is responsible for all functions and services related to personnel as well as ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, practices, and procedures.
The District currently serves approximately 23,000 students in 17 elementary schools, 6 intermediate schools, 4 comprehensive schools, 1 continuation school, and 1 community school. The District has a General Fund operating budget of $370.2 million. The District also has a $300 million dollar bond, with $100 million sold for projects already underway.
Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Educational Leadership or related field of study
Five years of successful management/supervisory experience within an educational environment
Knowledge of human resources practices and procedures as well as federal, state, and board regulations, policies, and laws
Experience as a school principal; valid California Administrative Credential
Successful experience involving negotiations with employee organizations
