Notre Dame Academy is a Marist Catholic and International Baccalaureate World School serving students in grade pre-k through high school and located in Duluth, Georgia.
The role of the Upper School Science Teacher is to teach Physics. Incorporates curriculum standards into well-planned and successfully executed unit lessons. Reports to the Upper School Principal. This is a full-time 10-month position, beginning August 1, 2019 for the 2019-2020 school year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning- Incorporates curriculum standards into well-planned and successfully executed unit lessons, including measurable outcomes, a variety of instructional materials, planned activities and authentic assessments
Student Evaluation- Provides fair, reliable and understandable grade structure, utilizes a variety of assessment techniques
Records- Maintains accurate records of student achievement
Referral- Refers students who are low/high achieving to Learning Specialist
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, preference given to Master’s Degree
Previous teaching experience at the high school level
Experience teaching Physics, preference to experience teaching IB Physics, or AP Physics
