Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Leadership Qualities:
Demonstrates strong instructional leadership and supports proven, research based instructional practices and curricula
Demonstrates the capacity to motivate and lead others toward change in alignment with the strategic plan of Woodland School District
Demonstrates support and contribution to the diversity and excellence of our student and academic programs through service to our students, parents and the community we serve.
Demonstrates experience in working with a diverse student population (ethnicity, religion, economic disadvantaged, etc.)
Practices collaborative, participatory and child-centered decision-making
Uses systems data to lead the improvement of the school to positively impact students and staff
Highly visible, accessible and approachable, and represents the school with passion, dignity and pride to the school community
Displays strong and effective communication skills with staff, students and parents
Ability to lead a professional school community with high expectations for its students and schools
In-depth knowledge of elementary curriculum, instruction and assessment
Demonstrates an understanding of change process and human dynamics
Respects a variety of diverse teaching styles, and has high expectations for student achievement
Recruits, develops, motivates and maintains the highest quality school staff
Administers the instructional, financial, personnel and material resources of the school in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Board of Education
Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct, health, and safety of students
Supervises and evaluates personnel in accordance with the staff evaluation plan and district policies

Professional Educator License with Principal or General Administrative endorsement in the State of Illinois required
Classroom and administrative experience in middle school education preferred
Spanish speaking preferred
