Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is the 10th largest school system in the nation. Located in Northern Virginia, outside of Washington D.C., FCPS is searching for aspiring and experienced administrative leaders to join our school-based leadership teams to work with parents, school-based personnel, and central office professional staff.
The school system implements a principal-selection process that includes placing qualified candidates in a pool from which they may be selected for a specific school.
To be considered for the FCPS Principal Pool, applicants must apply during one of two open windows (window 1: August 1, 2018 - September 4, 2018 or window 2: December 2018 – February 2019) and upload all required documents (resume and two essay responses). Principals direct and are accountable for the planning, assessment, instructional leadership, communication, community relations, and safety and administrative management required to manage the instructional and special programs, organization, and facilities of an assigned Fairfax County public school.
Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in administration and supervision preK-12 (a special education endorsement required for special education principal positions), plus seven years of progressively more responsible experience in teaching and administration or supervision, with a minimum of three years administrative experience.
