Position Title: Lourdes High School Principal (Rochester Catholic Schools, Rochester MN)
Currently serving more than 1,800 students in grades Preschool through 12, Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS) have continued to honor a tradition of excellence in providing a sound moral and intellectual formation for over 130 years. In October 2011, RCS embarked on a celebratory groundbreaking for a new entrepreneurial High School, featuring a Fine Art facility, cutting edge Technology and Teleconferencing, collegiate-style Library, state-of-the-art Science facilities and a Chapel which serves as the architectural and spiritual center of the school. The Principal employee shall demonstrate faith leadership in all planning, administration, and regularly evaluations of site programs to which assigned, including but not limited to direct and oversight accountability for the instructional program goals, delivery, improvement and assessment; selection, supervision of all licensed and support staff including provision of appropriate in-services for training and staff development; student services; facilities management; extra-curricular programming; compliance with established policies and regulations; effective allocation of approved financial and human resources; and establishing cooperative and collaborative community relations all in a manner consistent with the RCS vision, mission and values.
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
General qualifications for teacher in the State of Minnesota
Minimum of five years’ of successful teaching experience
MA Degree or higher from an accredited institution
Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability in working with multiple constituencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bi-lingual preferred but not required
Budgeting and financial management experience
Excellent organization skills
Major in Educational Administration and Supervision
Three years’ experience as a Principal or Assistant Principal
Current licensed Principal for the State of Minnesota
Oversee general administration of the school in a proper, professional and satisfactory manner, and shall perform all duties that are generally assigned to the Principal and are reasonably associated with the general program of the school, including but not limited to the following:
Facilitate and model the growth of a faith community by the licensed and support staff
Sign and adhere to the Diocesan Code of Conduct for all employees
Sign and adhere to the Policy for Identifying, Reporting and Responding to Sexual Misconduct
Qualify and hire licensed and support staff
Demonstrate teamwork by assigning responsibilities and duties to licensed and support staff which encourage collaboration and positive results
Evaluate and counsel licensed and support staff in a manner which establishes and reinforces collaboration and cooperation to promote a positive climate conducive to teaching and learning
Meet the direction and school standards with respect to discipline, curriculum and instruction, staffing and student progress
Implement and monitor system and procedures that ensure accurate facility, student, employee records required by the employer, the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, and the State of Minnesota
Plan and supervise the pre-service and in-service meetings and parent/teacher conferences
Attend and participate in meetings, as assigned
Prepare strategic plans for your school that are aligned with the RCS strategic plan and fulfills the accrediting association expectation and requirements
Perform such other duties as my be reasonably requested by the Director of Schools
Oversee physical plant maintenance, monitor all operations related to the building(s) and grounds and take required initiatives to ensure a safe, healthful environment for the immediate school community
Develop and administer approved budget(s) for the school; establishes appropriate fiscal controls and protocols to ensure timely and accurate account and inventory practices
