Position Description: The High School Principal serves as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team with lead responsibility for high school educational leadership, faculty and student support, personnel selection and development, and co-curricular programming.
The principal gives leadership to our school culture and learning environment. An emphasis on holistic programming whereby students continually grow, explore interests and practice leadership is important. The principal works toward high satisfaction among students, parents, and faculty. They provide program vision and collaboration with faculty and other school leaders. The principal serves as a resource for faculty, helps inspire professional development, and serves as the supervisor for high school faculty. They oversee co-curricular programs, student handbook policies, and support daily activities. The principal supports admissions work by keeping our school program strong and attractive for new students. A Master’s degree in an educational leadership field preferred.
Qualifications: a. Conviction about the importance of Christian education and wholehearted agreement with the mission and values of EMS. b. Relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills, including verbal, written and listening skills. c. Self-starter with excellent organization, supervisory, and management skills. d. Bachelor’s Degree in education with a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience. e. Master’s Degree in education or supervision. f. High level of familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database use. g. Schedule flexibility for assisting with set up and oversight of major events for the school.
Additional Salary Information: Somewhat dependent upon experience. Benefits are generally valued at around 30 - 35% of salary.
