Falls Church City Public Schools has five schools which serve over 2500 students. Mary Ellen Henderson Middle serves approximately 556 students in grades 6-8 and offers a progressive, enriching and differentiated curriculum that challenges students to pursue a wide variety of interests to help guide future academic and career goals.
We seek a principal who:
• Demonstrates strong instructional leadership. • Has experience implementing and supervising a variety of innovative programs that address the needs of a diverse student population. • Has knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Program, specifically the Middle Years Program (MYP). • Demonstrates leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, parents, administrators and community members to promote high academic achievement. • Has success working with an involved community. • Has experience in working with a variety of programs including extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. • Facilitates use of data to identify student needs and promote effective and differentiated instruction with a base understanding of Response to Intervention (RtI).• Has strong knowledge of the effective use of technology integration which enhances learning.
• Possesses a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision. • Has at least three years of successful experience as a school administrator. • Has a vision for an outstanding middle school program for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
