St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Jefferson, Wisconsin, is seeking a full-time principal for the 2017-2018 school year. The PK3-8 school of approximately 200 students is WRISA accredited and has an excellent faculty and staff who are passionate about teaching and learning.
The principal is the chief administrator and leader who holds a primary position of leadership and authority in educational and administrative matters within the school. The principal is responsible for: creating and facilitating a safe environment conducive to quality teaching and learning, fostering a community of faith and learning based on Gospel values and Catholic teaching, supervising faculty and staff, and maintaining a close relationship with the Pastor, the Parish Education Commission and the Office of Catholic Schools to ensure that policies and procedures are carried out in an efficient and uniform manner.
The successful candidate should possess dynamic leadership skills, demonstrate excellent communication skills, display knowledge of curriculum and instruction, have experience leading faculty to continuously improve student learning, be a practicing Catholic in good standing and hold or be working toward a Master’s degree in Educational Administration or a related field. Previous successful teaching experience is required. Prior, successful administrative experience, preferably in a Catholic school, is desirable but not required.
