NEW West Clermont High School
Set to open its doors in August 2017, the West Clermont High School brings together the Amelia and Glen Este High Schools which will close at the end of this academic year. This consolidation brings together both communities to preserve traditions and establish a new identity for West Clermont High School. Aligned to District goals, the 2,500-student building will be state-of-the-art, taking advantage of 21st Century Learning spaces for students, staff and the community. West Clermont High School will focus on providing every student a strong academic base and the opportunity to experience courses that allow them to “try on” a profession while still in high school. Whether it is our marketing class that will run the new Wolves Den Spirit Shop, finance class students who will operate the Classic Credit Union branch located in the building, or students who want to explore careers related to physical therapy by interning in the building’s HealthPlex, West Clermont students will graduate with the skills and experiences they need to hit the ground running after graduation.
Goals that will guide West Clermont HS • Continue to fine tune learning standards so that all students have the academic foundation they need to achieve • Continue to invest in our principals and teachers to make sure they have the personal and material resources they need to assure that all students reach their full potential • Continue to increase the amount of college credits offered, while also leading to more students taking advantage of the opportunity • Continue to add a variety of hands-on experiences that will help students make informed, post-graduation college and career choices • Provide every student the skills necessary to be competitive in the job or college market The successful candidate will be able to bring all stakeholders together to create high levels of academic expectations and performance, new traditions, and a true sense of community.
The District is working with Hamilton County Educational Service Center to conduct the search process.
The new principal will be expected to begin work on August 1, 2017.
