Reporting to the Middle and High School Principals, the HS/MS Instrumental Music Teacher will be joining a dynamic team top-notch professionals who teach and learn a in beautiful purpose-built facility where an American and international student body thrives. The school's music staff consists of an instrumental music teacher, choral music teacher, and two elementary music teachers. Collaboration among staff members is an essential component to the success of the music program at TAISM. Performance opportunities are enhanced by the school's Bosch Center for the Performing Arts. Opened in the spring of 2012, this 520-seat concert and theater venue has received exceptional reviews for acoustics and audience viewing. Band students from TAISM have regularly auditioned and been selected to participate in the International High School Honor Band. The same honors have been awarded to the school's choral music students. The TAISM Middle and High School Bands include Grade 6 Beginning Band, Grade 7 Band, Grade 8 Band, High School Concert Band, and High School Jazz Band. Grade 6 Band classes provide beginning instruction for all students in Grade 6 of the Middle School. Large ensemble rehearsals and performances are the fundamental part of the program beginning in Grade 7 and up through High School. In addition, classes introduce students to various aspects of music theory, world music, ear-training, music history, performance and ensemble skills. The selected candidate will demonstrate the ability to appropriately utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources for each area taught, and communicate with and obtain feedback from students in a manner that enhances student learning and understanding. Key to your success is the ability to recognize student diversity and create an atmosphere conducive to the promotion of positive student involvement and self-concept.
