The Board of Trustees seeks a mission-driven and visionary leader to serve as Head of School for this historically important and academically rigorous school. St. Mary’s uses the Head of School/Principal model whereby the Principal leads day-to-day school operations and reports to the Head of School, who has general charge of the school’s facilities, academic, business, and spiritual life beginning July 1, 2018. The next Head of School will lead with confidence and inspiration, ensuring that strategic initiatives set forth by the Board of Trustees are implemented, appraised and developed with ambition and vision.
The Head of School Search Committee welcomes candidates from diverse career backgrounds who are faith-filled, capable of building community, and experienced in delivering excellent results. There is a strong preference for educators who know the business of Catholic schools. Candidates will be considered whether they are emerging leaders or well-established in a career. The next Head of St. Mary’s will be an experienced and dynamic leader who will take charge of a school that is operating at a high level with sights set on continued improvement. The school’s program is strong, and the next Head will be charged to lead continued development of a 21st-Century curriculum scope, strategic and innovative actions to build enrollment, and oversee a large and complex con...struction project that will transform campus beginning in Spring 2018. S/he will develop systems and measures to improve organization-wide productivity, with a focus on recruitment and development of excellent faculty and qualified students. The Head of School will balance and prioritize the needs of the school, and secure resources necessary to accomplish institutional objectives. The Head of School will execute organizational strategy with effectiveness, accountability, operational vitality and clarity of roles and responsibilities.
As a facilitator of interpersonal connections, the next Head of School will engage alumni, parents, friends and all constituents as stakeholders, stewarding the values and traditions of this 136-year-old institution.
