This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that reports to the Head of School. The Beginning School Principal oversees all aspects of the Beginning School from vision to specific details. The Beginning School Principal is responsible for providing direction and guidance for teachers and staff as well as parents in an environment that allows young children to thrive. The principal provides pedagogical expertise and curricular oversight; hires, mentors, and evaluates faculty and staff through a comprehensive evaluation and professional development plan and supports day to day work; teaches parenting classes; and works closely with the Academic Support Counselor, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Ethical Education, Emotional Support Counselor, and the Lower School Principal. In addition, the Beginning School Principal is integral in discussions of student progress and financial and operational matters, while working collaboratively with other school leaders to ensure philosophical and programmatic alignment across the entire school, PreK-12.
